Installation and Replacement

Please Note: when changing the fluoride cartridge it is important that the fluoride cartridge is flushed alone to prevent it from flushing into the next stages of filtration.  Flush water through this cartridge in the system for 20 minutes before adding the next stages. View Instructions below.

How to Install and Flush the Fluoride Removal Replacement Cartridge

Setting up your system is straightforward. The fluoride cartridge simply needs to be flushed on its own before the other cartridges are installed.

  1. Open the housing:

Benchtop water filter: Turn the housing anti-clockwise.
Undersink water filter: Turn the housing clockwise.

2. Install the fluoride cartridge

Place the fluoride cartridge into the housing. 

Countertop systems: Sit the cartridge upside down, with the flat rubber washer facing down onto the base.

Undersink systems: Gently slide the cartridge into the housing, with the flat rubber washer facing up.

Screw the housing back on and hand-tighten until securely sealed. No tools are needed.

3. Check for leaks
Turn on the water supply and check around the housing for any leaks.

4. Flush the fluoride cartridge 
With only the fluoride cartridge installed, run water through the system for 20 minutes. This flushes the cartridge and prepares it for use. If you like, you can collect this water and use it on your plants.

5. Reinstall the CTO Max cartridge
Turn off the water supply and open the filtered water tap to release the pressure and drain the water. Remove the housing and reinstall the CTO Max  cartridge in its original positions. Hand-tighten the housings securely.

6. Flush the complete system
Turn the water supply back on and check for leaks. Then allow the complete system to flush for 10 minutes.

7. One final flush
After leaving the system for 12 hours, flush it again for 3 minutes.

That’s it. Your filter is now ready to provide clean, great-tasting filtered water.
