Removes particulate matter such as sediment, rust, dirt, cloudiness from the water. Made in USA. Filter needs replacing every 6-12 months.
Omnipure GAC Carbon Filter WL5640 (Stage 2&4)
Made from 100% pure Coconut Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) and rigorously tested, it effectively reduces PFAS, Chlorine, Chemicals, Taste & Odour. We recommend replacing every 12 months or 7,500L depending on water quality. Made in USA.
3rd Stage Omnipure Reverse Osmosis Replacement Membrane WL5572
Effectively removes up to 99% of PFAS, fluoride, viruses, bacteria and parasites. The membrane screens to 0.0005 micron for pristine drinking water. Designed and made in the USA for maximum filtration, it requires replacement every 3-6 years to maintain optimal performance.
How does the Reverse Osmosis Membrane Work?
A reverse osmosis membrane is a thin film with tiny pores that permit only water molecules to pass through, blocking all contaminants. It’s made of a semi-permeable material that allows water flow but blocks dissolved salts, organics, bacteria, and pyrogens. When pressurised, pure water diffuses through the membrane into the permeate flow, leaving contaminants behind. Reverse osmosis removes up to 99% of impurities.
Polluted water is forced through the semi-permeable membrane by mains pressure. Pure water passes easily, while pollutants larger than.0005 microns are washed away into a waste stream that goes down the drain. This waste stream contains all of the filtered-out contaminants, including pesticides, metals, bacteria, and viruses.
Reverse Osmosis and Nutrients
Reverse osmosis effectively removes harmful contaminants like cadmium, arsenic, and chromium. However, it also filters out beneficial minerals and salts, resulting in acidic water. Important Considerations for Rainwater Filtration
This product is designed specifically for use with municipal water supply systems or well water with adequate pressure. It is not recommended for rainwater filtration due to the waste water component inherent in reverse osmosis systems.
Reverse osmosis water filters require a consistent water pressure of at least 40 psi, which is typically provided by municipal water mains or a dedicated pressure pump. Rainwater collection systems often lack the necessary pressure for the efficient operation of reverse osmosis filters.
For optimal performance and to avoid potential issues, we strongly advise against using this product for rainwater filtration. It is specifically engineered to work seamlessly with traditional water supply sources that meet the required pressure specifications.
